Photo #1: 2nd day of camp: Dave ran as fast as he could off the bus and jumped into my arms!
Photo #2: Me praying for Stephen. A sweet little boy who cried to me and said he just wanted a new pair of shoes because his feet were so worn. We prayed. Two days later, the Lord answered his prayer!

As many of you know, Thomas and I had the privilege of traveling to Zambia, Africa two summers ago. We went with a group called Family Legacy Missions and our purpose was to minister to, love on, and hug the precious orphans of Zambia.
I am thrilled and humbled and privilaged to tell you that I am returning to Zambia this summer! Thanks to the good Lord’s nudge, the support and love of Thomas, and the generosity of Mamy and Sugar who will help Thomas take care of Jackson. My heart has been stirred again at an unexpected time and in an unexpected season. But I am absolutely thrilled to imagine seeing the faces of my sweet children again!
I just read the journal I took to Africa. One of the most vivid days was our very first day of CampLife. I heard buses barreling down the dirt roads, filled with children singing and shouting in their sweet Zambian dialects. Once these children got off the buses, I just began weeping:
I wept because I could see how unkept they were- think torn clothes, dirty faces, and bare feet with exposed blisters.
I wept because I knew most do not live with both a mother and father. Many children live with a distant relative or neighbor they hardly know. I came to know and love a little girl named Abigail whose mother sadly told her, “I wish your dad wasn’t dead so I didn’t have to take care of you.” An example of how children are often viewed as a drain of time and resources in Africa.
I wept because I could just see the sadness in their eyes. Behind their adorable and innocent faces, I sensed so much heartache and pain.
I just remember hugging as many children as I could saying, “Nikokonda! Nikokonda! (I love you! I love you!).” They had no clue why this random white woman (aka: “Muzungo”) was hugging them relentlessly. Can you imagine not having a hug from your parents or hearing the words “I love you.”?
As many of you know, the time I spent with these amazing children was life-changing. Family Legacy Missions equipped us with the resources to care for these children so well. They received a full meal at CampLife each day- many of them would save their half-eaten apples for dinnertime so they could ration out their resources. I listened to their heartaches and prayed with them every day. I was able to tell them about a Father in Heaven who loves and adores them so much!
I am writing today for two specific requests:
Will you add me to your prayer list?
Please pray for God to:
PREPARE the hearts of Zambian orphans to hear the message of the gospel
PROTECT me from any fears/anxieties that might discourage me from bringing Christ’s message of hope, salvation, and grace “to the ends of the Earth.” (Acts 1:8)
Will you prayerfully consider making a financial contribution?
The total cost of the trip is $4000. This amount covers my airfare and accommodations. It also guarantees 50 young lives will forever be touched! My hope is that we will both be blessed by our involvement in God’s work in Zambia.

My weeping at the beginning of CampLife turned into tears of joy and hope by the end. So many children accepted Christ into their hearts and came to know a perfect Father in Heaven who loves them unconditionally.
Upon leaving, I remember telling my sweet children, “I will see you in heaven!” because I could obviously not promise a return to Zambia. I am confident God has protected many of my children these past two years, and I grateful for the opportunity to see them on this side of heaven in Africa this summer! Thank you to all my friends and family who choose to be apart of this mission in any way (whether that be through prayers, support, donations)! I am grateful to have you in my life to write/share this passion!
Humbled By His Love for His Children (even me!),
Molly
